• Oily and problematic skin – how to solve the problem with RegimA

  Oily / Problem Skin?

  Oily skins generally present with blackheads, white heads and a variety of lesions which, unless treated, lead to more serious problems such as cysts and boils. The combination of oil and skin cells allows bacteria to develop within the follicles, resulting in inflammation, redness, swelling, pain. If not controlled, results long-term in post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation and scarring.

  Exfoliation is extremely important in an oily skin to unplug blocked pores.  Unfortunately clients with oily skins are under the wrong impression that their skins are dirty so they tend to scrub problematic areas prone to blackheads, causing damage. Harsh abrasives cause adulteration of the skin, exacerbate an oily problem, cause inflammation, with resultant pigmentation. If the oily skin is also problematic then harsh abrasives can lead to spreading of infection and scarring.

  The low pH (acidity) of RégimA helps to control externally the problems associated with a problem or acneform skin by destroying most skin bacteria which are the main cause of inflammation and cross infection.  Many active ingredients known for their acne combating properties, are used to help clear blackheads, refine the pores and have a leveling effect on acne scarring.   The Optima 518 is an apparatus used for hair removal and other skin treatments. It was developed by Active Optical Systems, incorporating knowledge and experience of more than 25 years in the market and awareness to the growing need to improve safety and client satisfaction.

  The Optima 518 is different from other IPL machines and based upon Active’s patented GEM technology (Geometrical energy management). The Optima’s GEM technology is a unique way to deliver energy to a predetermined target. Unlike other IPL’s and lasers where the energy is scattered on the skin the GEM technology manages to concentrate the bulk of  the energy in a geometrical plane positioned under the skin. This precise positing enables a selective targeting of hair follicles, pigments vascular lesions, acne, etc.

  Due to the concentration of the energy there is no need to overload the skin with excessive energy like in many other systems. This makes the treatment efficient but at the same time painless and gentle to the skin.

  Active’s GEM technology is different from Laser technology. Typical laser technology operates on extremely condensed narrow beam that must deliver a lot of energy within a short time.

  It heats the surface of the skin up to700 c, when activated, and can cause unwanted burns and pigmentation if not used very carefully. Several tests for pigmentation must be performed before an actual treatment with one of  Laser.

  In Active’s GEM technology, the energy is distributed equally of a large area and temperature on the skin can be 70 c at most. This relatively low treatment temperature allows deep penetration of the light into the skin with no damage on top of it. The result is a superb hair removal treatment.

  How does each treatment work ?

  Permanent Hair Removal :

  The undesired hair is removed by coagulation of the hair follicle. High intensity light is projected from the light source into the follicle and destroys it.

  Skin Rejuvenation :

  The specific light intensity stimulates cells to produce more collagen and elastic tissue synthesis, which results in the rejuvenation of the skin.

  Acne :

  The High Intensity Light penetrates deep into the pores to kill all forms of bacteria which cause acne. This treatment is extremely successful without disappointment.

  Pigmentation and Aging Spots :

  IPL penetrates darker spots or areas found on the body, destroying all traces of blemishes  and age Spots. Eventually the skin tone evens out.

  Vascular :

  Most commonly used to detangle ‘spider veins’ found on the face. This procedure is quick and non invasive. It works by detangling all facial and surface veins allowing them to retreat back into the skin.

  Frequently Asked Questions.

  How many sessions will it take to remove the hair ?

  It will take no less than 6 treatments to see an 80% reduction in your hair growth. Treatments thereafter are given in order to target all stubborn hairs left behind. You will need to come once every 4 weeks for a session when your hair is in its most active stage.

  Is it painful ?

  Light energy is distributed equally on a large area 15 X 50 mm. The light pulses every second for fast effective treatment. The only discomfort you may experience is a split second warmth on your skin after each pulse.

  Will I be left with a scar?
