Ozone Oxygen Therapy Treatments – Parkhurst
Oxygen Therapy – What’s new in O2?
Oxygen gives life and energy to every single living cell in our bodies.
It is the most important element in the prevention of disease and is absolutely essential for optimal cell function.
Humans need oxygen from the moment they are born. Oxygen gives life and energy to every single living cell in our bodies. Our bodies use oxygen to create energy which in turn allows us to think and act. It is the most important element in the prevention of disease and is absolutely essential for optimal cell function.
Our body needs oxygen to: create energy, digest food, clean out toxins from the body, metabolise fat, metabolise carbohydrates, regulate pH, manufacture hormones, proteins, aid lymph flow, produce collagen and elastin, fight off bacteria and viruses and much more.
Clinical studies show that 90% of the body’s nutritional need is for oxygen. We can go for as long as 40 days without food, four days without water, but we can’t last three minutes without oxygen.
As we grow older, the oxygen content in our bodies begins to decline and continues to do so until death. Hypoxia or “skin deprived of sufficient oxygen” is a condition that causes thinner, more sluggish skin that is prone to fine lines and wrinkles. The production of collagen and elastin slows down and the skin is not able to function properly.
“Cancer has only one prime cause. It is the replacement of normal oxygen respiration of the body’s cells by an anaerobic (ie. oxygen-deficient) cell respiration,” says Dr Otto Warburg, Nobel prize winner for cancer research.
In the early days we could get enough oxygen. However, due to combustion, deforestation and man-made processes, oxygen levels in our standard air are now less than 21% and even way less than that if you live in a city environment.
Look at it this way, if you were to put yourself and a group of people in an airtight small room with no ventilation of fresh air, how long would it take for you to get tired /weak / fatigued or depressed? Are you getting enough oxygen?
Scientists have found that topical oxygen treatments could enhance skin health at cellular level and help cells behave in a more youthful, energetic way!
Many people, aware that free radicals have been linked with the aging process and many health problems, are concerned that taking in more oxygen will result in production of even more oxygen free radicals. A study for the US Army’s Environmental medicine research studying oxidative stress and the need for antioxidants at high altitudes determined that less oxygen to the body increases the production of free radicals as well as our need for a greater supply of antioxidants to neutralize the free radicals.
When adequate amounts of oxygen is not available for the production of energy to carry on life functions, the cells revert to a different process of energy production that does not require oxygen and one that results in greater free radical production.
There are various ways to administer oxygen ranging from inhalation, spray, oxygen injections, masks and Ozone Therapy. Treatments range from five to 30 minutes and can be incorporated into treatments weekly or monthly.

The importance of Oxygen – Ozone Therapy Treatments
Why is oxygen so important to us?
Healthy cells in the body need and love oxygen. Most undesirable micro-organisms are anaerobic, which means that they thrive in the absence of oxygen; in fact, they are destroyed by the presence of oxygen. Organisms such as fungi, parasites, bacteria, and primitive viruses like HIV, Epstein Barr, Coxsackie and Cytomegalovirus are often associated with states of ill health. Note that conventional medicine blames these micro-organisms for many chronic illnesses.
The body becomes deprived of adequate levels of oxygen through improper breathing, polluted air, inadequate nutrition and junk foods and stress. This provides an anaerobic environment in which the micro-organisms thrive.
Healthy cells which have sufficient oxygen and nutrients, manufacture an enzyme coating around themselves which protects them against invasion. Oxygen starved cells are unable to produce enough enzymes to fortify their cell walls; they subsequently become weaker and more vulnerable.
Heat is continually generated through the chemical action of oxygen upon carbon, which releases carbon dioxide for elimination. If insufficient oxygen is present, carbon monoxide is produced instead. Carbon monoxide is an irritant to the nervous system, interferes with organ functions, reduces basal body temperature, and prevents oxygen uptake by the red blood cells. This has the effect of debilitating the body, thus making it susceptible to infection and disease.
How does it effect us?
People can survive without water for a week and without food for a month but only four minutes without oxygen before brain damage sets in. As a result of oxidation, the body turns food into heat and energy and excretes microbes and waste products. The human body consists of water of which 90% is lymph and 10% is blood and O2. Cells function by burning sugar in the presence of O2. The waste products are H2O and carbon dioxide. If there isn’t sufficient O2, carbon monoxide and lactic acid build up. Carbon monoxide prevents the red blood cells from taking in O2, and the body’s temperature drops. The lactic acid builds up in the system, blocks nerve pathways, calcifies and eventually causes degeneration. More O2 is needed to break down these toxins. Several toxins are transported by the blood, and some are stored in fat cells. The water content of the body is polluted more and more and this results in illnesses. Cells that have too little oxygen are not able to protect themselves by means of production of a special enzyme layer on the cell surface. Viruses and bacteria can thus easily infiltrate the cell. Oxygen is therefore important for good health. The more O2 the body has, the more energy a body has and the quicker it can get rid of toxins and waste products. Oxidation is important for the body’s metabolism, blood flow, respiratory system and digestive system. Sufficient O2 allows the body to heal itself and to maintain the immune system. Thus Ozone Therapy is one of the recommended treatments to elliminate viral and fungal infection as well as detox the system so the body can absorb more O2.
