Why choose Liposuction to improve your overall appearance?
Liposuction as a procedure to achieve great health
If beauty is only skin deep then why do a lot of us suffer from low self-esteem whenever we are overweight? Being obese can cause so many woes for us, such as in our wellness, in our relations, and in our view about living.
Nonetheless, for every problem, there are solutions. To remove excess body fat that causes so much embarrassment and possible health risks, we could try exercise programs, diets, and diet pills. Physicians have also developed medical procedures that remove fatty deposits from the body. One such technique is liposuction.
Liposuction was discovered in Europe in the late 1970s, and because of its success in removing body fat and giving contour to the body, its popularity as a surgical technique for weight loss and body sculpting quickly spread all over the world.
When performed by a registered and capable medical practitioner, liposuction is one medical procedure that will produce life-changing results for the person. And what are these results?
Liposuction mainly benefits a person’s health; removing unwanted fat can lower one’s risk for diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension. Moreover, with the weight loss after liposuction, we can slide into clothes that are actually complementary to our new shapeliness.
In conclusion, we may feel more confident after having liposuction. The sense of our own worth is heightened and we feel that we are no longer ostracised by other people. We notice that people treat us differently, compared when we were still carrying rolls of fat. We hear compliments about our looks. The notion of being appreciated for our appearance is priceless.
As with all weight loss procedures that need invasive surgery, there are some risks involved in liposuction surgery, more so if the operation was not done in a certified clinic or handled by a trained doctor. If you are considering undergoing liposuction, make sure that you select a accredited hospital and that your doctor is certified to perform liposuction procedures. You will never regret you went through the extra precaution. Because, certainly, it’s your body that will be going under the knife and you would undeniably wish for only the best possible result of the procedure.
General information on Liposuction
Liposuction is a surgical technique that can be used to remove excess fats from the body areas where fat might get deposited. It is mainly used for removing fats from thighs, face, neck, back, abdomen etc. Liposuction has become a very popular surgical procedure. The original form of liposuction was invented by Dr. Giorgio Fischer in 1974. This technique was developed further in 1978 by French physicians. Liposuction became very popular in the United States as well as other places in the world. Today’s techniques are improved upon and many variants of the original surgery were invented. These techniques were much better and did not cause any problems that were caused by liposuction earlier.
The process of liposuction uses a cannula that is used to remove fats from the body areas. The fats are disturbed by using ultrasound, laser or high frequency energy. These are then suctioned out of the body under a lot of pressure. The process uses many equipments and tools. Infiltration pump is used in the surgery to insert the infiltration fluid into hypodermis. The suction device is attached to the cannula and suctions out the excess fats from the body. Containers for fat are important equipments because they can be used to calculate the amount of blood that a patient loses on one side and the amount of fat removed from the body on the other side.
Liposuction can be performed either by using general anesthesia or local anesthesia. However, using local anesthesia is generally recommended by surgeons as it is safer. The patient must have normal body weight and be a healthy. This is because during the surgery many complications can arise that may result in high blood pressure or a cardiac arrest.
The cost is different in each region. The cost of surgery includes non surgical costs and the fees charged by the surgeon. The cost also depends upon the body area from which fat is being removed and the amount of fat being removed.
The recovery time from the surgery depends upon the number of areas treated and the size of the area treated. Usually the recovery time may vary from days to months. In general a patient gets back to normal routine after a week’s time and the benefits of the surgery become visible after about three months. After the surgery, care is important in liposuction so that the patient does not get any health problems. The success of the surgery depends a lot upon the surgeon selected. An expert and experienced surgeon can assure success of the surgery. Treatments like Endermologie can also be done to speed up the recovery time as well as help to improve the body’s overall look.

How to recover after Liposuction
How Do I Recover?
Each surgery requires specific post-operative care and your surgeon will give you all the information pertinent to your procedure/s.
However there are some general tips that can help you get through the early post-op days as comfortably as possible:
•Don’t expect to look fantastic right away – if you anticipate some bruising and swelling you will be mentally prepared for the initial few days.
•Ice packs and compressors can alleviate much of the swelling and discomfort.
•Do not use any pain medication that is not prescribed by your surgeon. If you feel the need to take anti-inflammatories you must clear this with your doctor first.
•Recovery to the face and neck area can be greatly assisted by keeping your head elevated for two or three days after surgery. If you fail to carry out this simple procedure you could in fact prolong the recovery process and may even experience an adverse effect on the results.
•Make sure you check how soon you may bath, shower, wash your hair etc.
•Do not return to work or take on heavy tasks sooner than advised by your doctor. Practice patience and make the most of legitimate time off!
•Check when you will be able to drive again. This will also be dependent on the pain medication you are taking.
•Do not start exercising too soon, even if you feel able to. The possible injury or damage to the surgery site is not worth a few extra days off the treadmill!
•It’s very tempting to want to laze by the pool and get a golden tan to go with your newly enhanced face or body. However, exposure to the sun after surgery can be very detrimental so keep in the shade and use a sun block with a minimum SPF of 15.
•There are many alternative therapies that can enhance the recovery process while making you feel better emotionally. Some doctors will recommend practitioners. Even if your surgeon is not particularly in favour of complementary medicine he or she should be able to advise which therapies are safe. Always check with your surgeon first and only make use of registered practitioners.
