What is Laser Lipo?
Getting to know Laser Lipo
Many patients considering liposuction choose laser liposuction over traditional liposuction. After researching the two different methods potential patients are able to quickly determine that laser liposuction is advantageous in comparison to traditional lipo because it is more effective and less invasive. Because it’s less invasive it requires less recovery time.
Recent laser technology advancements have made these benefits possible. The liposuction procedures has evolved. It is now a safer and more efficient process. This makes more individuals interested in accessing the results available through liposuction. The most recent advancements in laser liposuction are used in the process referred to as SlimLipo. This lipo process is based on the melting away of fat in targeted areas in comparison to cutting the fat out in traditional lipo methods.
SlimLipo (laser liposuction) benefits:
1. Less body trauma; SlimLipo is based around melting fat in comparison to the traditional liposuction method of cutting it out.
2. Higher rates of fat removal: The laser technology is highly targeted making the results of laser liposuction more efficient (offering better results) than traditional lipo.
3. Skin tightening as a result of dermal heating: with traditional lipo patients often need to incorporate a skin tightening procedure after the fact. With laser liposuction skin tightening as a separate procedure is required far less often.

7. Decreased recovery time (due to the far less invasive nature of the procedure)
What is the actual SlimLipo process?
SlimLipo is a laser liposuction. It uses a laser with dual wavelength technology. The first wavelength melts fat and the second tightens skin in the surrounding area. It is currently recognized as the most efficient and effective liposuction method available.
The lasers used for laser liposuction can be targeted to extremely specific areas. This makes it possible for the procedure to be targeted at smaller, more difficult to reach areas that were often ignored when it came to traditional liposuction: ankles, chin, etc. Larger areas are also popular target areas for laser liposuction: buttocks, legs, thighs, arms, etc.
After laser lipo treatments like LPG Endermologie can also be done to help speed up the recovery time as well as help to improve the overall look of the body.

How to recover after Liposuction
How Do I Recover?
Each surgery requires specific post-operative care and your surgeon will give you all the information pertinent to your procedure/s.
However there are some general tips that can help you get through the early post-op days as comfortably as possible:
•Don’t expect to look fantastic right away – if you anticipate some bruising and swelling you will be mentally prepared for the initial few days.
•Ice packs and compressors can alleviate much of the swelling and discomfort.
•Do not use any pain medication that is not prescribed by your surgeon. If you feel the need to take anti-inflammatories you must clear this with your doctor first.
•Recovery to the face and neck area can be greatly assisted by keeping your head elevated for two or three days after surgery. If you fail to carry out this simple procedure you could in fact prolong the recovery process and may even experience an adverse effect on the results.
•Make sure you check how soon you may bath, shower, wash your hair etc.
•Do not return to work or take on heavy tasks sooner than advised by your doctor. Practice patience and make the most of legitimate time off!
•Check when you will be able to drive again. This will also be dependent on the pain medication you are taking.
•Do not start exercising too soon, even if you feel able to. The possible injury or damage to the surgery site is not worth a few extra days off the treadmill!
•It’s very tempting to want to laze by the pool and get a golden tan to go with your newly enhanced face or body. However, exposure to the sun after surgery can be very detrimental so keep in the shade and use a sun block with a minimum SPF of 15.
•There are many alternative therapies that can enhance the recovery process while making you feel better emotionally. Some doctors will recommend practitioners. Even if your surgeon is not particularly in favour of complementary medicine he or she should be able to advise which therapies are safe. Always check with your surgeon first and only make use of registered practitioners.
